Garment comfort does not simply come from a flexible waistband on trousers or a comfortable material. While these are certainly important, they are not enough on their own.

Comfort starts with the pattern making. In trousers, for example, the shape of the crotch seam and the right amount of ease play a key role. Everyone has probably owned a pair of trousers that constantly need tugging and adjusting—not fun.

In tops, the shape of the armhole is essential, as nothing feels worse than a shirt that pulls under the armpit.

When designing a new garment, we focus during fittings just as much on how the item feels to wear as on how it looks. Hujaus garments must allow you to sit, reach, bend down, and squat comfortably.

We use many different materials. Most of our materials are stretchy. We rely heavily on viscose- or cotton-based punto knits. In addition, we use cotton-based stretch sweatshirting, jersey, and Finnish 100% cotton textured and eyelet knits. We also use linen, rib knits, Tencel jersey, sportswear fabrics, and a few other varying fabric qualities.

Our fabrics come to us mainly from Portugal, Turkey, Lithuania, and Finland.
